Founded in 1981 by the visionary winemaker Gianni Masciarelli, Masciarelli Tenute Agricole is one of the most influential wineries in Abruzzo and a reference point for Italian wine excellence. From the very beginning, the estate has embodied a pioneering spirit, combining deep respect for tradition with innovation and a strong sense of place.
Gianni Masciarelli was among the first to introduce the Guyot training system and the use of French oak barriques to the region, redefining the expressive potential of native varieties such as Montepulciano d’Abruzzo and Trebbiano d’Abruzzo. His work played a decisive role in elevating Abruzzo on the international wine stage.
Alongside him from the start was Marina Cvetic, his partner in both life and work. Today, Marina leads the winery together with their daughters, Miriam Lee and Chiara Ludovica Masciarelli, carrying forward a family legacy rooted in quality, authenticity, and cultural vision.
Masciarelli’s vineyards span all four provinces of Abruzzo, from the Apennine mountains to the Adriatic coast. This extraordinary diversity of altitudes, soils, and climates gives rise to wines of elegance, balance, and strong territorial identity.
The Masciarelli universe extends beyond wine to embrace hospitality, culture, and art. A symbol of this vision is the Castello di Semivicoli, a historic 17th-century estate restored by the family and transformed into an elegant wine resort. Surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, the castle represents a place where wine, landscape, contemporary art, and refined hospitality come together, offering immersive experiences that reflect the soul of Abruzzo.
Through sustainable viticulture, cultural projects, and the preservation of heritage, Masciarelli Tenute Agricole expresses a holistic approach to wine—one that unites land, people, and creativity in a timeless narrative of excellence.
