Franciacorta, Italy’s most exclusive and prestigious Metodo Classico wine, owes its origins to the Guido Berlucchi winery. A story that began in 1955, set against the historic backdrop of Palazzo Lana, born from the meeting of two young visionaries: Guido Berlucchi, already a wine producer, and the young oenologist Franco Ziliani. United by a revolutionary idea, they set out to create a great Italian Metodo Classico in the province of Brescia.
With the 1961 harvest - and the first 3,000 bottles produced - Franciacorta was officially born. Berlucchi Franciacorta, now led by Arturo, Cristina, and Paolo Ziliani, is not only synonymous with Franciacorta, but also with modern research and advanced, sustainable oenological experimentation, making it the benchmark winery within the DOCG.
With more than 450 hectares of vineyards, including 143 hectares owned by the estate and certified organic since 2016, Berlucchi Franciacorta represents a model of excellence in this prized corner of Italy—a place where wine has always been the true protagonist.
In 2024, with over 50 years of history behind it, the winery received the title of “Historic Brand of National Interest,” an honor reserved for Italian companies that have shaped—and continue to shape—the history of Italian entrepreneurship.
